Poseidon has a long slender body and is the largest mammal to ever exist on the planet. I used sand on his exterior to replicate his skin. Underneath all the sand is a body made entirely of shells. A coating of water putty is applied over the shells to created a smooth surface for the sand to adhere. The water from the blowhole is made from the inner core of channel whelks. Quahog shells are used to create the tail and fins, and moon shells are used for the eyes. He is 9.25“ long, 5.74” wide and 5.25” high.
